Abstract

|
Temporary prostheses for the lower extremity amputees are designed to be worn for a limited period of time to expedite training, to permit better evaluation of the prosthetic needs and potentials of the patients and to promote stabilization of the stump shape and volume.
The clinical experience with temporary prostheses for 10 lower extremity amputees, in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Presbyterian Medical Center in Chonju since March 1983, is presented with the methods of fabrication and the review of the related literature.
